KaPrimer Got Engaged!
An engagement, often symbolized by an exquisite and elegant diamond ring, is a period of preparation to a lifetime partnership. But last July 28, 2008, a different kind of engagement transpired at the 6th floor of the Primer Star. Hosted by the Human Resources Department, the department threw an engagement party and opened the program with the spiel “KaPrimer, Engaged Ka Na Ba?” to all of the Primer employees. The night was filled with fun and excitement, as the members of the HRD entertained the KaPrimers with their exciting dance number. A few games were also played to keep the night as exhilarating as expected.
The event is a follow-through to the 4B Campaign, Primer’s battle cry that kicked-off this fiscal year. Primer Group is hoping to reach Four Billion Pesos in revenue by FY 2010~11.
Early on in the program, Ms. Jona Ang, AVP for Human Resources, explained that one of the key success factors in achieving the 4B target is becoming engaged to the organization where engagement is equated to 3S – Saying positive things about the organization, having the intense desire to Stay in the organization, and Serving with commitment. It is therefore the aim of the event to increase the level of engagement among employees hence the theme, 3S to 4B. Ms. Ang also gave some business updates regarding the current state and plans of the department in support of the 4B campaign.
Another highlight of the event was the short learning session given by Mr. Ave Gaspar. He too, had his own three precious letters to the engagement formula called G.E.M. He mentioned that an engaged organization has employees who find a Good reason to stay, the organization Embraces its employees first, and strives to Make a difference to the society.
Primer also welcomed the new KaPrimers as Ms. Nympha Bautista of Human Resources Department introduced each one of them to the whole company. The KaPrimer neophytes also showcased their stuff on the dance floor showing that they are really proud and ready to be part of Primer.
This gathering will be a regular fixture in the Primer calendar, as it will be held quarterly with different departments taking turns in hosting the event. Until then, see you at the next engagement party.
