APEX GUIDES YOUTH TOWARDS RETAIL EXCELLENCE AND SUCCESS

November 24, 2015

The Academy for Professional Excellence (APEX) has further fueled its mission to develop world-class retail leaders and professionals by strengthening the frontline skills and competencies of the retail sales force, while instilling a strong sense of confidence, professionalism and service-orientation in the foundation of society – the youth.

To ease the transition from school to work, APEX delivered an Image and Confidence Building program to more than 100 Hotel and Tourism students from Colegio De San Gabriel Arcanghel. This 4-hour program geared towards understanding the significance of self-confidence, and developing the tools to create a positive self- image is intended to give students the competitive advantage in navigating the professional landscape.

Addressing the growing need to narrow the skills gap, APEX has partnered with TESDA, under the Private Education and Student Financial Assistance program (PESFA), to strengthen the knowledge, skills and attitude of future frontliners by granting 54 Customer Services National Certification Level II (CS NC-II) scholarships to underprivileged yet deserving out of school youth from urban poor communities. APEX through the support of TESDA conducted free Customer Services NC-II programs to scholars from the Center for Community Transformation of Ministries (CCT), an organized Christian response against poverty and social injustice that serves poor communities.

Under TESDA’s National TVET Competency Assessment and Certification (NATCAC), APEX has been able to provide free CS NC-II assessment to almost 200 retail frontliners. Free assessments are still ongoing and are conducted to qualified retail practitioners. The partnerships show APEX’s increasing credibility and capacity to raise the caliber of Filipino retailers through training and development.
